The MTC experience was wonderful. People say that, in feelings of the Spirit, it is second only to the Temple. I do believe that is the case!
We started driving Friday late afternoon, and made it as far as Grand Junction, CO for the night.
The next day we started early and went through some of the most breath-taking scenery you can imagine, with mountains, trees, and ski resorts, including Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge. We made it to Kansas City that night.
Just randomly, we selected a hotel just past the MO state line (KC, MO). As it turned out, it was just a few miles from where my Katherman grandparents are buried. So, on Sunday morning we visited their gravesite, which I had not seen before. I remember them from our visits when I was a kid. We felt that it was a sort of a "tender mercy" from the Lord, that we could have that opportunity to see where they are interred. And, yes, their Temple work has been done!
We also attended the Riverview Branch, where the meetings were conducted in both English and Spanish. Very nice people! We were warmly greeted.
Then, over the next two days, we traveled on to Georgia, through some spectacular rainstorms! We have a nice home (a half of a duplex) and we unpacked and did some grocery shopping. We will meet the Full-Time Elders later today, and start into our work!
